The purpose of this Conference is to discuss and pursue the intersection of the African American Faith Community and the discussion of mental health.  A proposed idea for closing the gap for the African American community to increase access to care for mental health disorders is to begin the conversation in the faith community to be more aligned with cultural values and practices. 

Dr. Carter will be presenting on Christian Life Coaching as a consideration of approaching discussions of mental health within the faith community using the Christian Coaching Model by Gary Collins.

This is a female small group made up of approximately 45-55 moms at Manna Church (Cliffdale Site and affiliated with MOPS international ministry. Their goal is to minister to mothers, build friendships, love on their community, and encourage women in their walk with Christ. Their theme this small group cycle is "To the Full " John 10:10.
