I don’t know about you, but when I first saw the photo above of the “creepy babydoll”…I thought to myself, “wow, what a creepy babydoll!”
As I was deciding about whether to use it or not, I had this revelation-I only see the babydoll as creepy because when I was younger, some movie or person used this type imagery in a creepy way and this planted a seed in my mind that any type of image that looked similar to this would forever be “creepy”.
The same can be said about CHANGE (to become different; to make someone or something different: to become something else.) Change can also make us feel creepy (strange or scary; causing people to feel nervous and afraid; annoyingly unpleasant: producing a nervous shivery apprehension). Why is that?
Because at some point in our lives, we experienced change or wanted to make a change and some experience, movie or person shared their imagery and experience in a creepy way and therefore planted a seed in our minds that any type of image that looked similar to this would forever be “creepy” thus causing us to become nervous, fearful, apprehensive and afraid of change.
Well, I don’t know about you, but instead of avoiding the “creepy babydoll of change”, I decided to embrace her by:
- Using her in this message to you, thus releasing myself from the perception that might accompany using such an image;
- Following my heart and deciding that I would rather move boldly into the creepiness of the unknown and find and encounter a cool new thing as opposed to continuing to live in fear of the (unknown) creepy babydoll(s) lurking around the corners of my life.
- Apply the Word of God…check it out! Psalm 37:4 says, “if you delight yourself in me, I will give you the desires of your heart.” Meaning, God will place the thing He desires for us within our heart and then He will give us the ability and resources to pursue them. Furthermore, he tells us in John 16:33, “to fear not, for He has overcome the world”…well, in my mind, that includes all of the “creepy babydolls of change” that exist or seem to exist in the world and in the places He has called me to.
I am applying this truth and killing the perception of “the creepy babydoll” in and over my life THIS WEEK, by launching my first virtual coaching package, entitled, “Become Fearless”!
